OMG. Or how to totally confuse yourself while knitting

So. Ravelry is a fabulous site. I love it. Same deal with Knitty. I have some beautiful Tilli Tomas Beaded Lace in the Adobe colourway...had no idea what I was going to do with it. I decided on Variation on a Frill cause it's pretty and drapey and I like it. Which is really all the reasoning I need. However I have frogged this piece twice now. Why? The first time I totally forgot where I was in the pattern...it's a 3 stitch repeat and I messed it up...OMG.

Next frogging...I was reading forums on ravelry...and somehow I got it into my head that I've been knitting all wrong! For...um...at least a decade. Seriously!! I thought this! My gramma taught me the bare basics of knitting (in the form on the never ending garter stitch dishcloth) in 1998. This was the second time she taught me to knit. The first being when I was like 7...11 years prior to go around #2.

But really, I thought I was knitting in the wrong side of the stitch somehow. Cause in all my reading and knitting the front and back of a stitch were never really clarified. So I cast on my 152 stitches again. And start knitting the slowest and most obtuse way one could possibly think of to knit in. I was quite literally knitting on the opposite side of the needles...I had to hold my needles way low on my lap and kind of lean over to see what I was doing. Somewhere around row 8 I realise that people could not possibly have been knitting like this for hundreds of years...the number of muscle relaxants I was taking after a 1/2 hour of knitting was attesting to that fact. So after watching a number of videos on youtube I have decided that a knitting demon snuck into my head and rattled it around a bit. So I frogged my wrap again...the stitches are completely backwards after all...OMG (#2).
So here we have cast on #3.

I'm on row 2...here's hoping I can keep my head on straight long enough to get past the frill part of this...I'm putting a life line in at that point...just in case the demon comes back.

Plus here is an incredibly fantastic picture of Charley in Rak-a-Habibi's routine-Courting Hagala. My friend Renee took this...I swear Charley is not praising the dancing gods.
We laughed a whole lot at this one. And then we laughed at the one where Renee managed to capture just how far up my butt Harem pants can crawl....it doesn't help that I had them on backwards.
